INFJ / Leo
Who is an Advocate (INFJ)?
Advocates are individuals with the Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Judging personality traits. They tend to be gentle, complex and intuitive people who enjoy expressing themselves both artistically and creatively. Highly observant of their surroundings, advocates are extremely skillful at reading and understanding other people.
These people are warm, and loving. They are ruled by the heart and have an unrelenting appetite for growth that is easily satiated by the praise of others. They want to be perceived as unbreakable because they are scared of admitting vulnerability, needing things from other people, being incomplete. They are idealistic and demand perfection from themselves. They are organized and scheduled; often keeping a calendar or organiser to track their lives. They are passionate about personal development, wanting to see growth in themselves through reading and learning from others. However, they may sometimes tend to be pulled in too many directions because of their many inspirations and projects they want to start. They feel committed to follow through on their projects, but they may often end up burnt out because of too many commitments.
For these people, obstacles exist to be overcome and no problem can outmatch the strength and resilience that these types possess deep inside. They follow through on their ideas with conviction, and have the willpower and decisiveness necessary to see projects through to the end. They live for the opportunity to solve problems and bring about positive change in the world. Once they’ve made up their mind, they tend to be very confident in their conclusions and may not have much tolerance for those who continue to dissent. When someone challenges their conclusions, they can react very strongly and are especially vulnerable to criticism. They are productive and effective when they make a concerted effort to focus on one project at a time. But their fertile imaginations frequently undermine their efforts to stay on the straight and narrow, and they will often start new projects based on fresh inspirations before old ones are finished— and, before they know it, they will find themselves buried under an avalanche of work. There is really nothing they can do to moderate the pace of their inspirations, but if they constantly remind themselves to slow down and take things one at a time, they may be able to resist the urge to go off on tangents at least some of the time.
Advocate/Leos are naturally energetic and passionate and often fall for partners that are equally enthusiastic. They are attracted to the same qualities in others that they see in themselves. They want to be with somebody who can not only formulate an intelligent argument, but can also present it in a smooth and articulate manner. They are committed to finding the ultimate ideal relationship. This means that they may unconsciously project their expectations of ideals on their partners, and may move on if they feel their partners don’t meet all those expectations. They rather are single and free than to be married to someone that doesn’t meet their expectations. Some Advocate/Leos manage this side of themselves, projecting their idealism elsewhere into their projects or work, rather than their partners. However, if they have chosen a partner, they are fully committed to making the relationship the best one there is. They are wonderful listeners – able to quickly and accurately diagnose the challenges that their partners have. They’ll help their partners verbalize their thoughts and find clarity. Partners often feel the warm presence of the Advocate/Leo to be a comforting space.
These people usually show up in areas where they can be creative and somewhat independent. They have a natural affinity for art, and many excel in the sciences, where they make use of their intuition. They can also be found in service oriented professions. They are not good at dealing with minutia or very detailed tasks. They will either avoid such things, or else go to the other extreme and become enveloped in the details to the extent that they can no longer see the big picture. They are gifted in ways that other types are not. Life is not necessarily easy for the Advocate/Leo, but they are capable of great depth of feeling and personal achievement.
